Corrosion Control Systems & Services

Corrosion is the electrochemical reaction of a metal when exposed to the environment, resulting in its progressive degradation or destruction. Steel corrosion typically results in the production of oxides – commonly known and seen as rust. In reinforced concrete, where steel is embedded below the surface – the symptoms of corrosion may not be seen until the damage is significant. Cracking, spalling and delaminations are outward signs of a serious corrosion problem.

Corrosion problems with structural and civil infrastructure can be complicated - especially embedded steel corrosion. Owners should partner with professionals with experience in investigation, solution-building and installation of contermeasures for corrosion.

State-of-the-Art Products.

STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES’ advanced systems and products are used to protect against corrosion of reinforced concrete and steel structures.

Electro Tech CP™ Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) Systems

STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES’ offers Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) solutions driven and controlled by proprietary power and monitoring devices that deliver precise levels of protective current to concrete and masonry embedded steel. Our products and in-house engineering support provides our clients the most advanced corrosion control and monitoring systems available in the marketplace, based on application-specific needs

LifeJacket® Cathodic Protection System

The LifeJacket® Cathodic Protection System is a patented corrosion protection system that uses a zinc alloy mesh anode placed directly against the inside face of a stay-in-place fiberglass form, and is proven to stop corrosion by providing an electrical current to the affected region. This current is produced through a galvanic process and thus, does not require an external power supply.

The custom fabricated fiberglass jackets are designed and manufactured to fit a wide range of infrastructure shapes and sizes for rapid installation. Along with providing the attachments and components of a cathodic protection system, LifeJacket® also creates a stay-in-place form that is used for a “form and pump” repair of the concrete structure that is being repaired and protected.

LifeJacket® trade name and patents are owned by Jarden Zinc Products, Inc. and are distributed and custom designed for specific application exclusively in the US and Mexico by STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES.

LifePanel Galvanic Cathodic Protection System

LIfePanel™ is a galvanic cathodic protection system that is attached to the exterior of concrete surfaces to stop corrosion by providing a uniform electrical current to the affected region. The panels cover large areas and may be custom designed configured to fit nearly any structure type.

LIfePanel™ trade name and patents are owned by Jarden Zinc Products, Inc. and are distributed and custom designed for specific application exclusively in the US and Mexico by STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES.

Electro Tech CP Metalized Cathodic Protection (MCP) Systems

Utilizing commercially available and patented anode alloys, STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES’ metalized cathodic protection systems are designed to deliver corrosion protection to embedded reinforcing steel in concrete through the galvanic process.

When properly connected to reinforcing steel in concrete, a metalized anode system delivers a uniform protective current. Relatively simple to operate, these systems do not require external power and offer lower lifecycle costs compared to other methods of cathodic protection. A metalized surface may also be coated for aesthetic purposes or to provide additional protection.
