Proprietary Products & Systems
Through the use of advanced technologies—such as carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) strengthening systems for internal buried pipe repair and post-tensioning for external open trench repair—STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES provides clients with a wide range of proven product solutions that repair and extend the life of vital pipeline assets.
StrongPIPE® Hybrid FRP
In response to pipeline applications involving renewal of extended runs of large diameter pipelines using trenchless methods, STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES created the StrongPIPE® Hybrid FRP system. This unique composite system is made up of layers of reinforcing steel wire and FRP to provide fully structural repairs and upgrades to pipe segments. The StrongPIPE® system is applicable to all types of pipelines and is installed internally starting at pipe diameters of 36 inches and larger.
StrongPIPE® Hybrid FRP is a proprietary solution which combines the benefits of steel reinforcement with FRP to create a high-value trenchless repair system for large diameter pipe. Custom designed for each application, StrongPIPE® combines layers of reinforcing steel and FRP to create a fully structural strengthening system for restoration of damaged/weakened large diameter pressure pipe. StrongPIPE® Hybrid FRP utilizes a continuously wound steel reinforcement that forms a composite liner inside the existing pipe.
V-Wrap™ Carbon Fiber System
V-Wrap™ is a structural strengthening system for the restoration of damaged/weakened pressure pipe. It utilizes layers of specially designed carbon fiber reinforced polymer composite applied both longitudinally and circumferentially.
Carbon fiber design and number of layers are a function of the exact design requirements. The existing piping system becomes a form for the V-Wrap™ CFRP system which becomes the pipe once the system is installed.
XPT™ Post-Tensioning System
The XPT™ Post-Tensioning system is an engineered solution utilizing reinforcing wire installed circumferentially at the exterior of designated pipe segment(s). The XPT™ System is fully structural and provides strengthening to weakened or distressed pipelines or can be used to proactively renew exposed pipelines.
